Wholesale Hat Styles Guide
A complete guide to the different type of wholesale hats and caps: trucker hats, dad hats, baseball hats, snapback hats, beanies, camo hats, neon hats, flex hats, bucket hats, visors, youth hats, and fitted hats.
1. Trucker Hats
A trucker hat is a type of hat typically featuring a mesh, breathable back with a foam front and a curved or flat brim. The trucker crown can be a 5-panel or 6-panel depending upon the hat. The mesh is typically made of plastic or nylon, while the front panel may be foam, acrylic, or cotton. The front panel of trucker hats are typically structured with a material such as buckram. Trucker hats normally have a plastic adjustable snapback closure.
2. Dad Hats
A dad hat is a type of low crown, unstructured hat with a curved visor. The closure for a dad hat will normally be a brass buckle or sometimes a velcro closure (hook and loop).
3. Baseball Hats
A baseball hat is a type of low crown/mid crown, structured hat with a curved visor. The closure for a baseball hat will normally be a plastic snapback adjustable closure or a velcro closure (hook and loop).
4. Snapback Hats
A snapback hat is a type of hat with a flat visor (flat bill) and plastic adjustable snapback closure (hence the name). A snapback hat normally has a structured crown.
5. Beanies & Knit Caps
A beanie is a type of knit hat that is small, snug - fitting closely to the head - and often has a cuff.
6. Camouflage Hats
A camo hat can be any type of hat, but normally has a camo or camouflage design printed onto the hat. There are various types of camo colors including Multicam, Hybricam, digital camo, woodland camo, desert camo, etc.
7. Neon Hats
A neon hat can be any type of hat, but normally has a bright neon color in yellow, green, orange, or pink. Neon hats are often made from polyester material in order to retain the color. Neon hats are often used as promotional hats due to their ability to stand out with bright colors and contrast.
8. Flex Hats
A flex hat can be any type of hat with a stretchable, flexible backing. Flex hats often use spandex as a material to allow for a more elastic back.
9. Bucket Hats
A bucket hat, sometimes known as a fisherman's hat, is a type of hat with a wide, down-sloping brim. It is often described as a bucket hat, since it appears as if there is an upside-down bucket on the head. Bucket hats may have metal eyelets for ventilation.
A visor is a type of crownless hat with a brim or visor and an adjustable strap encircling the head.
11. Youth and Kids Hats
Youth hats are typically smaller in crown size, but consist of the same materials as typical baseball or snapback hats.
12. Fitted Hats
Fitted hats are hats with no adjustable closure, but an exact fitted backing. Fitted sizes range from 6 3/4 to 8. Popular fitted hats include New Era Brand. We carry fitted hat sizes including 6 3/4, 6 7/8, 7, 7 1/8, 7 1/4, 7 3/8, 7 1/2, and 7 5/8.
13. Straw & Cowboy Hats
A straw hat is a wide-brimmed hat that is woven out of straw or straw-like materials. Commonly used straw materials include wheat straw, Raffia straw, Toyo straw, and jute.
14. Fedora Hats
A fedora is a hat with a circular, soft brim and an indented crown. Fedora hats are normally creased down the center of the crown and "pinched" near the front on both sides.
